Baptism & First Communion Invitation Wording (EN, FR, AR)

A baptism or first communion invitation should include the child's name, the parents (and often the godparents), the church, the date and time, the reception details and an RSVP date. Send it 3–4 weeks before. Many Lebanese families invite in Arabic, French and English, so below are ready-to-use wordings in all three.
What to include

Short verses and blessings
- "Let the little children come to me." (Matthew 19:14)

When to send and other etiquette
- Send invitations 3–4 weeks before the ceremony.
- Name the godparents: it's an honour for them and common on Lebanese invitations.
- Say whether children are invited. At a baptism they usually are; say so warmly ("Little ones are welcome!").
- Gifts: a religious keepsake, jewellery or a money gift are common. There's no need to mention gifts on the invitation.
- Use the right month names in Arabic: أيار، حزيران in the Levant; مايو، يونيو in the Gulf and Egypt.
