How to Send Wedding Invitations on WhatsApp (Step by Step)
Send every guest their own invitation in one click: see personalized WhatsApp invitation links →
To send wedding invitations on WhatsApp, give each guest their own invitation link (not one shared PDF or image), send it with a short personal message, and track the replies in one place so you can remind only the guests who haven't answered. Done this way, a WhatsApp invitation feels personal, and it's the fastest way to get RSVPs, especially in Lebanon, the Gulf and families spread across countries.
Step 1: Choose what you'll send
| Option | What guests get | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Image or PDF of the card | A picture of the invitation | No RSVP, no map, large files, easy to lose in a chat |
| One shared link for everyone | A web page with details | Anyone can forward it; you can't see who replied |
| A personalised link per guest | Their own invitation, greeting them by name, with one-tap RSVP and the venue map | Needs a platform built for it |
A personalised link is the only option that tells you exactly who has replied, and how many seats they've taken.
Step 2: Prepare your guest list
- One row per invitation: a person, a couple or a family.
- Phone numbers in international format (e.g. +961 81 234 567, +971 50 123 4567). This matters when relatives live abroad.
- The seat count for each invitation (2 for a couple, 4 for a family).
- The language each guest prefers: Arabic, English or French.
Step 3: Write the message
Keep it short and personal. The design is in the link.
English
Dear Rami & Lara, with great joy we invite you to our wedding on Saturday 15 August 2026 in Beirut. 💍 Your personal invitation is here: [link]. We'd love you to confirm by 17 July. With love, Maya & Elias
Arabic (Lebanese dialect, for friends)
رامي ولارا! عرسنا يوم السبت ١٥ آب ببيروت ومنحب كتير تكونوا معنا 💍 هيدي دعوتكم: [الرابط]. خبرونا قبل ١٧ تموز 🤍
Step 4: Send it (and avoid common mistakes)
- Don't send it in a WhatsApp group. Guests see each other's numbers and replies, and the invitation gets buried in the chat.
- Be careful with broadcast lists. A broadcast reaches at most 256 contacts, and only people who have saved your number receive it. Many guests silently never get it.
- Sending one by one works for small weddings, but for 200+ guests it takes hours, and sending many identical messages quickly can get a personal number flagged as spam.
- For elders, add a phone call. Grandparents appreciate hearing the invitation as well as reading it.
Step 5: Track replies and send reminders
When every guest has their own link, you can see at a glance who accepted, declined or hasn't answered yet, with the total seat count. About a week before your RSVP deadline, send a reminder only to the guests who haven't replied.
Is it OK to send wedding invitations on WhatsApp?
Yes. For many families it's now the norm. It reaches guests where they actually read messages, it's instant for relatives abroad, and it's easy to reply to. What makes it feel elegant rather than casual is a beautiful design, a personal greeting and a warm message, not the channel.
