Arabic Wedding Invitation Wording: 15 Examples to Copy

A formal Arabic wedding invitation usually follows the same order: an opening (a verse or the families' names), the invitation line, the couple's names, the date and time, the venue, and a closing line. The wording changes with the tradition: Lebanese Christian invitations often mention the إكليل (church crowning ceremony), Muslim invitations usually open with بسم الله and a Quranic verse, and Gulf invitations often add the Hijri date and separate times for the men's and women's receptions. Below are 15 examples to copy and adapt.

Tips for getting the Arabic right
- Month names: use آب، تموز، أيلول in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, and أغسطس، يوليو، سبتمبر in the Gulf and Egypt.
- Numerals: Arabic-Indic (١٥) and Western (15) are both fine. Pick one and use it throughout.
- Typography: never add letter-spacing to Arabic text. It breaks the joins between letters.
- Grammar for two hosts: «يتشرّف السيد … وعقيلته» is singular because the father leads the sentence; for a joint line, «يتشرّفان» or «تتشرّف عائلتا …» also work.
- Proofread with someone from your family's region: wording customs differ between Beirut, the North, the Gulf and the diaspora.
